Trauma Therapy
Evidence-based, attachment-centered care that helps children, teens, and adults process traumatic experiences and rebuild safety.
Trauma Shows Up in Many Ways
Trauma can impact how children, teens, and adults view themselves, relate to others, and respond to the world around them. Sometimes trauma results from a single event. Other times it develops through ongoing experiences such as family conflict, neglect, abuse, foster care involvement, loss, medical challenges, or other adverse childhood experiences.
The effects aren’t always obvious. Behavioral changes, difficulty trusting others, emotional reactivity, withdrawal, and a persistent sense of being unsafe can all be connected to unresolved trauma.
A Safe Place to Begin
I provide trauma-informed therapy that helps clients understand how past experiences may be influencing their emotions, behaviors, relationships, and sense of safety. My approach is rooted in attachment, connection, and creating a safe therapeutic environment where healing can occur at a pace that feels manageable and supportive.
Evidence-Based Approaches
I draw from several evidence-based methods, including:
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
- Attachment-based interventions
- Play-based techniques
- Family systems work
For younger children, trauma therapy often includes play, creative expression, and parent involvement. For teens and adults, therapy may focus on understanding patterns, building coping skills, processing difficult experiences, and developing a stronger sense of self.
Healing, Not Reliving
My goal is not to have clients relive painful experiences. It’s to help them make sense of their story, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence, connection, and emotional well-being.
